It’s Our One-Year Birthday

July 3rd to be precise. I started this web site one year ago as a means to promote my book on the Wonderland murders and what has evolved instead — not saying the promo vehicle was a failure, far from it — is a terrific community of fun readers who have really taken a liking to Trace and his misadventures.

I have so many folks to thank for helping out with Wonderland in our first year and so many new friends to thank that if I gave each and every one of you a link I’d be working on this post til four in the morning.

So, here, in absoluely random order, go thanks out to scribe Joseph Mailander, the terrific David and Julie Scott, a shout out to Jason Toney and Andrienne Crew, likewise to everyone at LAist, Kevin Roderick at LA Observed, Mack Reed at LA Voice, everyone at Gridskipper (thanks for the nomination for Best L.A.-themed blog, seriously), the indomitable Will Campbell, Steven Blackmoore of the terrifcily-written L.A. Noir blog, Andrew at Here in Van Nuys, our neighbors over at Blogging L.A. with a special heads up to David Markland, the lovely ladies known as Adrianna Bliss, Hurricane Shirley, Ghetto Photo Girl, Green L.A. Girl, Kuleana (of course, where are we without our websmasters?), Kim Cooper, Laura James, Laura Fisher, Josephine Gillis, Diane, Laura also known as Pumpkin (that’s a lot of Lauras), and, finally, Diana Wagman. And hey to mystery novelist supreme, John Shannon

On the business side of things I want to thank Dawn Schiller, Ron Coen, the ghost of John Curtis Holmes, and those delightful folks at Lulu Publishing for always paying royalties in a timely manner.

Now, who did I forget?

I forgot Steve Huff, Independent Sources, and Dennis Cozallio at Sergio Leone and the Infield Fly Rule.

    Also Moxie and Luke Ford.

Congrats to you and Wonderland, RJ!

    Thanks, A!

  4. I’m touched to be held in the same esteem as these wonderful folks who have been around so much longer. Thank you, and congratulations!!

  5. Always someone left out of those thank you’s, isn’t there? Let’s see, you have a major Trace fan named Kitty who wasn’t mentioned. And your daughter, you posted her write-up on AIDS Day remember? She’s a good writer.

Ghetto Photo Girl – being included on a list of “lovely Wonderland ladies” has its own peculiar sort of honor, doesn’t it? Can’t wait for the Wonderland party.

I can only echo what Julie just said. Way to go, Rodger, on the anniversary of one of my favorite sites! Long may it run!

Thanks for the mention! Congratulations on 1 year and I know there will be many more. FYI, my 1st reading of the 1st book on the Wonderland murders was 1 of my favorite reading experiences.
